The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, reacted through a public message, where he praised the figure of the academic and expressed condolences to the family.
"A rare academic has left the Pantheon... Rexhep Qosja was one of the most beautiful minds of Albanian culture and thought."

The country's prime minister also expressed condolences to Qosje's family, remembering the academic through a message on social media.
"FAITHFUL ALBANIAN! Fraternal condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Professor Rexhep Qose," Rama writes.
The bitter news was confirmed by Qose's family members themselves through an announcement on their official Facebook page.
According to the family, the academic passed away today and was buried today with only his family members present.
At the request of the deceased, the family emphasizes that they will not organize any reception ceremonies nor will they participate in ceremonies organized by institutions.

Who was Rexhep Qosja:
Rexhep Qosja was one of the most well-known figures of Albanian literature, literary criticism and intellectual thought. He was born on June 25, 1936 in Vuthaj (Montenegro), while his most important academic and cultural activity was carried out in Kosovo.
Qosja studied Albanian language and literature at the University of Prishtina, where he later worked as a lecturer and researcher. He became one of the leading figures at the Prishtina Institute of Albanology, where he contributed for decades to the field of literary and historical studies.
Contribution to literature and criticism
Rexhep Qosja is particularly known for his works in literary criticism, literary history, and essays. He has analyzed in depth the development of Albanian literature and its main figures. Among his most famous works are studies on the Albanian Renaissance and modern authors, as well as analyses of Albanian cultural identity.
In literary fiction, he has left his mark with the novel "Death Comes to Me from Such Eyes", one of the most important works of contemporary Albanian prose.
