After the opposition's request for an interpellation with the Ministry of Agriculture was rejected, Tomor Alizoti reacted in the plenary session by raising concerns about the lack of representation and responses to the sector's problems.
During his speech, he considered the minister's presence in the Assembly necessary to clarify policies and the situation in agriculture, describing this sector as an important part of the economy.
Alizoti emphasized that institutions must function through political confrontation and parliamentary debate, while requesting that, if the current minister does not appear, another representative be appointed to provide explanations to citizens.
"Being a minister and refusing interpellation makes no political sense. Politics is confrontation. The one who is a minister must give his political scheme for Agriculture. It is an important link in the Albanian economy. Even if the law has foreseen that he is under investigation and cannot speak, find another minister to answer Albanians for their troubles. What is the point of parliament, put the lock on it and leave, parliament is a debate. Find a minister who knows how to speak, who knows what Agriculture is...", he said.
