Democratic Party MP Gent Strazimiri said that the first session of Parliament passed with less tension than it should have. He emphasized that Parliament is called when society votes freely, without pressure.
"We can no longer talk about Parliament. Parliament is when society has voted freely, without pressure. The OSCE/ODIHR report has shown what the opposition says. We decided to go to Parliament because not going to Parliament is not an option. Rama has 83 seats and if we don't go either, we will leave the other seats to him, leaving him alone to destroy the lives of Albanians," said Strazimiri.
Asked about his personal feelings upon returning to Parliament after several years, Strazimir expressed a sense of sadness, adding that he found the Assembly hall worse than he had left it.
"The first feeling was sadness. Sadness followed by a strong responsibility to provide a solution to free the country from this evil. It is tragicomic. Sometimes comical notes appear, but this does not soften the tragedy at all. I found the Parliament hall worse than I had left it, in terms of composition. The possibilities to react are those that are within a hall, but we must reinvent ourselves in order to block the spiral where the country is heading," he said for "A2 CNN".
