European Union Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos has stated that Albania can move forward with the negotiation process, despite the fact that a final solution to the maritime border disputes with Greece has not yet been reached.
Asked whether these issues could affect the closure of negotiation chapters, Kos said that the integration process foresees the resolution of several issues along the way.
Question: Can Albania close the chapters without resolving the maritime border disputes with Greece?
Marta Kos: There are chapters that we are resolving during the process. So far, Albania has been able to come closer to resolving bilateral disputes, especially with Greece, and I am convinced that this will happen in the future.
