The session of the Security Council at the UN Assembly led by Albania started with debates between Prime Minister Edi Rama and Russia's ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.
Rama opened the work of this session by announcing that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenksy, will speak at the beginning, but this was opposed by the Russian ambassador to the UN, who addressed Rama, saying that the Albanian Presidency is breaking the rules.
Meanwhile, Rama answered him, saying that this also has a solution: If Russia stops the war, then Zelensky will not give a speech either.

Rama: If you were more clear about what the problem was I would be happy to help you.
The Russian ambassador to the UN: We do not believe that the arguments presented to us are convincing. I want you to explain to us why priority was given to the president of Ukraine? If today you approve decisions by dropping the hammer, then the Albanian presidency will face a violation of the practices of the Security Council. There is a flagrant violation here because the president's travel to come and speak here is seen as a privilege.
The Albanian presidency opened an endless debate among a group of members. Today will be no more, but a spectacle. We do not oppose the participation of the president of Ukraine, but it should be done in accordance with the rules. According to the rules, it is the turn of those who are members.
Rama: I have to say that coming from you this whole lecture on breaking the rules is an impressive blow. As it is repeated many times the violation here is about the fact that President Zelensky will speak in front of the council members there is a solution if you agree, you stop the war and Zelensky will not speak here. It comes from something you did.
