President Bajram Begaj hosted today in a meeting the High Course on Security and Defense that is taking place at the Defense and Security College of our Armed Forces.
This meeting was attended by representatives of national security institutions, Albanian military and allied and partner countries from Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Kosovo, Poland and Jordan, who are part of one of the most important programs offered by the Albanian military education system.
President Begaj congratulated the Defense and Security College for developing this course, while praising the spirit of cooperation and understanding, building trust, and creating connections between representatives of civilian and military professionals from different agencies and countries.
The conversation focused on topics related to geopolitical developments, security, and the importance of cooperation between partners and allies, as represented by the composition of this course.
The President stressed the importance for Albania of stability and security in the Western Balkans region. The Head of State emphasized that in the Western Balkans region, despite the great progress towards Euro-Atlantic integration, political developments are complex.
In the context of geopolitical dynamics and international conflicts, the Western Balkans has a strategic importance for the Alliance, the Head of State assessed. In this regard, an important issue is Kosovo. Begaj emphasized Albania's continued engagement in international organizations for the integration of Kosovo, especially for increasing its recognition, its membership in NATO, as well as participation in Alliance missions as an act that serves to strengthen security in the region.
