Prime Minister Edi Rama appeared determined to continue implementing the TID project in Durrës, which puts over 70 homes at risk of collapse.
After a meeting with a representative group of residents affected by this project, Rama said that he had discussed with about 34 representatives of families affected by this project.
The project in question is about the revitalization of the historic "Edidamn" boulevard.
During the more than 2-hour meeting that Rama had with representatives of the families whose properties are affected by the project, the Prime Minister said that an agreement was reached, and the new reference prices will be used for the compensation value.
Rama said that a reevaluation of some homes that are claimed to have cultural value will be carried out, the problem of some homes that do not have a mortgage will be reviewed, and that new references regarding the value of expropriation will be reviewed.
"We have agreed on how we will move forward, whether with the necessary verification for objects that may have cultural heritage values. There will be demolition, it will not stop, but verification will be carried out for some houses that are claimed to be cultural heritage and some houses that have not received mortgage registration. We have also discussed the issue of price and we will have to see the new references ," said Rama.
While the Prime Minister stopped to give his version of the talks, a group of citizens protesting in front of the City Hall chanted "Rama out," while the Head of Government did not spare jokes, describing them as representatives not of Durrës, nor of the citizens, but of a degenerate man over 80 years old who has exhausted all avenues of reason.

Homeowners, or those living in houses that are to be demolished, are against being treated as rentals without reaching an agreement on the expropriation of their properties.
According to the municipality, the financial value of the expropriation of 867,776,164 lek has been approved in principle, for the privately owned assets affected by this public investment.
131 owners, private and state, have been identified, for whom the expropriation value has been determined.
The project to revitalize the historic “Epidamn” boulevard, known as TID Durrës, foresees the expropriation of 74 Durrës families, which according to the developers envisages returning the city of Durrës to the European map of cultural and historical destinations, as well as providing economic benefits through the city's rich cultural and historical heritage for local communities. /Pamphlet/
