After the protest held on the evening of May 8, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, continued with the accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government.
In his statements, Berisha said that Rama is in a politically weakened position and that, according to him, he no longer enjoys the same support in the international arena.
"Edi Rama, de facto, is kneeling and humiliated. I guarantee you this. Edi Rama, so that Albanians know, wherever he goes, they show him their elbow. Wherever he goes, they turn their backs on him. Wherever he goes, today he has become the gossip of Europe ," Berisha declared.
During the virtual communication with citizens, the democratic leader also spoke about issues that, according to him, have received international attention, while also criticizing a part of the media, claiming that it is influenced by the government and that media owners benefit from public funds unfairly.
Berisha also focused on the opposition protests, which he described as peaceful, while warning of their continuation and increased pressure on the government.
"We will never stop the protest without Edi Rama in court. Where he belongs. Let him know. We tell him openly, to do everything, but nothing in the world will make us retreat from these objectives towards a government that has no legitimacy," he said.
