Prime Minister sends coded message to associates that he has no control over SPAK
The head of government, Edi Rama, has made it clear to all his associates that they are accountable to SPAK if they are involved in scandals.
A few days ago, Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, one of his closest associates, was named as a defendant. But Rama has not said a word about her, on the contrary, he is giving very strong support to justice and is even selling her shares for capital in the international arena.
He spoke today through a video conference for "Euronews", where he encouraged the justice system to continue the attacks without looking left or right. Rama was careful to show that he has no hand in the actions of SPAK, since according to him, they do not ask which party you belong to or what power you have. Recently, there have been many rumors that SPAK is acting under the direction of Rama, but the head of government has attempted to distance himself from the actions of the prosecution body.
" Albania is doing something unprecedented and unique in the entire region, our justice reform and our recognition, not only "de jure", but also "de facto" of the independence of justice. He then continued to act cynical, declaring that Albania has reached a stage where it does not accept lectures from anyone when it comes to corruption.
" And this is not to say that we are better than others, but it is to say that we have taken it very seriously and at this moment in time, we accept support, we accept partnership, we accept help, but we do not accept lectures from anyone when it comes to the fight against corruption ," said Rama.
After Veliaj's arrest, there was a change of course on Rama's part, who started attacking SPAK. But then he backed down and is now following a line of support. On the other hand, he is making it clear to those who have stood by him that he will sell them out if it comes to justice. /Pamphlet
