The decision to almost completely refresh the parliamentary group with new figures without political burdens, for the Socialist Party comes with its costs. Young people need to be taught and trained. The SP political academy this time will not be a school for those who aspire to get involved in politics, but for those who have already taken the most important step, have secured a seat in parliament.
The 53 first-time MPs, including 9 current ministers, will undergo intensive training to familiarize themselves with legislative practice, parliamentary behavior, and the duties and rights granted to them by the constitution to best perform their duties. The summer school for them begins on June 20.
Report TV learns that the "course" of the deputies will be intensive every weekend in the pink headquarters until the end of July, while the first lecturer of the new members of parliament will be Prime Minister Edi Rama himself. The old guard of the socialists, names such as Erion Braçe, Fatmir Xhafaj, Niko Peleshi or politicians who have held leadership positions in the Albanian Parliament and the socialist group over the years, will share their parliamentary experience with the new generation.
The goal is for the MPs to understand their constitutional role and learn how to build a relationship with the electorate, since the vast majority of them got the chance to enter parliament through closed lists. Another special session will be to familiarize themselves with the European integration process and the representation of Albania in the international arena, lectures will be given by ministers with knowledge in the relevant fields, such as Adea Pirdeni and former Foreign Minister Olta Xhaçka.
The summer for the new MPs will be intense, before they sit in parliament for the first time in September, without personal burdens, but with the weight of responsibility imposed on them by their political family, which will govern the country for the fourth consecutive term.
