Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the justice reform during the conference with the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, as he expressed his gratitude to the USA for its support.
The Prime Minister said that this support has made it possible for Albanians to regain their faith that everyone can be equal before the law.
Rama emphasized that with the new justice system, the myth of impunity has fallen and that even people in power or people connected to power have come before the law.
"We also discussed cooperation in the field of security, which is taking on an important dimension. The need and importance of American investments in Albania is indisputable. Not only as evidence of our relations, but also of the awareness of the great potential that Albania has. The US administration is committed to supporting all green energy programs. They are a willing partner and I hope that this process will be pushed even further as we believe that Albania is a place that American tourists are worth visiting. Unlike the USA, in a very small country you can find everything from beaches to snowy mountain peaks. In closing, I want to publicly thank Blinken for what we have said in all contacts with American friends, for irreplaceable support for the transformation of Albania from a country that never had justice and the culture of impunity was the standard, enabling us today let's see that even in Albania it is possible for people in power, or those connected to power, to be called to account before the law", said Rama.
