The vice president of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Tonin Gogu, while speaking today in the Assembly about the normative act of the government on the Doctor's Order, said that after what happened at the Oncology Hospital, there is no longer any reason to delay the legal changes.
"The changes we propose are not abstract regulations; they are a response to the pain and betrayal experienced by these citizens. When patients who are already fighting for their lives are confronted with corrupt systems and exploitative practices, it becomes clear that we have failed them in the most fundamental way. And it is our moral duty to ensure that such failures never happen again" , said Gogu in the Assembly.
He stated that it is unacceptable that there could be another mother, another father, another child entering the hospital unsure if they will receive the care they deserve.
"By implementing clear rules on double employment and transparency in doctor-patient interactions, we will not only prevent the conflicts of interest that have plagued our health system, but we will also rebuild lost trust. We must create a public register where every doctor is responsible, where every citizen can see who is responsible for his care and where there is no place for monopolies or exploitation" , said Gogu.
The SP deputy emphasized that the scandal at the Oncological Clinic should be "a turning point, a wake-up call that forces us to act now, immediately without causing more damage.
"The urgency is clear. The need is undeniable. Let's pass these changes not simply as a legal obligation, but as a moral imperative. The citizens of Albania are watching and trusting us to provide the health care system they deserve - transparent, responsible and always at the service of their well-being", he said.
