Today is election silence, while tomorrow 334,539 thousand voters of five municipalities will vote to elect new mayors. The CEC has distributed election materials in the 5 municipalities, Vlorë, Berat, Cërrik, Mat, Tepelena.
There are a total of 13 candidates in the race, while in all 5 municipalities the elections come after the resignations of the mayors who took office in the 2023 elections.
The candidates have conducted their campaign without political protagonism, and neither the leaders of the major parties, Rama and Berisha, have appeared at any rallies or electoral meetings.
For the smooth running of the voting process, the State Police has drafted a plan of measures. In the 5 municipalities where the elections will be held, the State Police has taken custody of 9 electoral buildings where the CEAZ commissions are located and on Saturday will take custody of 473 buildings that will serve as voting centers.
In total, there are 612 police officers who will be engaged in guarding election facilities and escorting materials. The State Police calls on citizens to report any case that aims to alienate their vote.
