From the meeting in Lezha with the Democrats, Berisha blamed the consecutive losses on Lulzim Basha.
Recalling the opposition's struggles in the fight for existence, Berisha said that Edi Rama undermined the DP from within, supported by the then-DP leader Lulzim Basha.
Berisha attacked Basha who, according to him, betrayed the trust of the Democrats because he was with them during the day and with Edi Rama at night, sharing money and deals.
"I say it here, the most important and most difficult decision of your life was the decision to support Sali Berisha in the fall of 2021.
"It was the decision to go from the opposition facade to the real opposition. But this time, the battle was not only with the Albanian government and its missionaries in the DP. Your battle was global ," Berisha said.

Friends, if we were to count the achievements of the past, they are numerous, but I want to tell you that if this party had another name, its name would be invincible.
If only the Democrats had a second name, undefeated.

And that ordeal, that isolation, they believed they buried us 7 feet underground with isolation.
But here we are today, seven resolutions in our support because we stood our ground.
