The Minister of Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, announced the approval of a draft law that provides for tax exemption in Albania for residents who earn income in other countries.
According to her, this change aims to facilitate especially those individuals who live in Albania, but receive income from abroad, by excluding this income from taxation in the country.
Ibrahimaj emphasized that this initiative is in line with policies to attract pensioners who have retired abroad and choose to return to live in Albania.
The minister also announced that the draft law also provides fiscal incentives for blind people, who will be exempt from certain tax obligations.
"This draft law provides that all those who are tax residents in Albania, who earn income in other countries of the world, this income, are exempt from tax in the country. This is a change that goes in line with the withdrawal of those pensioners who have retired in other countries and return to Albania. We have also made a legal rule that provides that those who are blind, will have a tax exemption and will benefit from fiscal incentives", said the minister.
