The socialist negotiator for the new electoral code, Damian Gjiknuri, has revealed that the SP and DP have agreed to amend the open list with 2/3, in order to preserve the gender quota in the lists and Parliament.
According to Gjiknuri's explanation, with the amendment that is expected to be submitted tomorrow to the Assembly, 1 in 3 of the winning candidates from the open list must be a woman. He clarified that the second open list will consist of two sub-lists, a list of women competing among themselves and a list of men competing among themselves.
" We will make a correction with the movement of the ladies deputies. We will make a correction where 1 out of 3 names on the list that will be the winner from the open competition must be guaranteed by female candidates. If there are three place winners and none of them is a woman, the top of the list will be taken. There will be an amendment that has been formulated and it will be ready tomorrow ", revealed Gjiknuri in the show "Debate" on A2 CNN.
