Today, Benet Beci has officially assumed the office as mayor of Shkodër.
After the oath and constitution of the municipal council, Benet Beci went to the mayor's office, where his predecessor Bardh Spahia handed over his duties. In a post on social networks, along with some shared photos, Beci writes that the door of the municipality will always be open for the good of Shkodra.
"The satisfaction that the constitution meeting ended with a meeting with Mr. Bardh Spahia. I wished him success in his new commitments and assured him that the door will always be open for the good of Shkodra," writes Beci.
For the first time in 30 years, Shkodra has a socialist mayor. Benet Beci officially took office, swearing in front of the municipal councilors and the left-wing deputies of the district.
In his speech, Beci asked to be in these 4 years not the first citizen of Shkodra but their worker and servant, as the road ahead will have its difficulties and now is the time to focus on work.
"I have the great pleasure and privilege to be elected by you and the people you represent in this hall as the first citizen of Shkodra. But, believe me, I would like that in these years of working with you, I would deserve the title of first worker and servant of Shkodra. The road that we will do together without a doubt has difficulties, but now is the time to focus on work, it is time to start a big change, not just for Shkodra to catch up with the lost time and pace, but for them to we anticipate the future", said Beci.
