The registration of immigrants at the CEC for the May 11 elections is continuing at a high pace even on its sixth day.
The number of people who have applied has reached around 20,000, while around 72% of these requests are still under review by the Commission. Or an average of over 3,000 applications every day.
It is learned that as of noon today (January 16), a total of 19,791 people had applied. Of these, 5,601 were reviewed and 3,984 approved. While another 14,190 were still under review.
So far, 1,617 people have been rejected, or 8.2%, or in other words, 1,200 people have been rejected in the last 24 hours alone, a high number. While 209 requests have been approved in the same number of hours, or 1.1% of the total.
The reason for the high number of rejections is reportedly the request for a new identification document.
