The senior adviser of the US Department of State, Derek Chollet, announced through a post on Twitter that the day before he had a conversation with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, whom he encouraged to urge the Kosovo Serbs not to create riots.
Chollet said that he also asked to take steps to help alleviate the tensions created recently in the north of Kosovo.
" I encouraged the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, yesterday to promote calm among the Kosovo Serbs, to take steps to help mitigate the crisis in the north of Kosovo, and to return to the path of normalization and constructive engagement in the Dialogue of facilitated by the EU ," he wrote on Twitter.
