The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, has reacted again to the situation in the North of Kosovo, saying that only after the elections can there be new mayors in the municipalities.
Kurti told the media that the rule of law must apply to everyone and that there can be no privileged minority. According to him, all communities must be freed from elements that have extremist ideologies and make violent attacks against the state of Kosovo.
" I understand that in the elections that were held in the north of Kosovo, there was a very low turnout and the legitimacy is weak, but these have little legitimacy and the others have no legitimacy at all," he said .
" Therefore, after the new elections, there can be new mayors, and there can be no mayors without new elections, and the offices and buildings of the municipalities in Leposaviq, Zveçan and Zubin Potok are assets of Kosovo," he added .
Furthermore, Kurti stated that everything is moving towards normalization, while he added that in order to do this as soon as possible, the address for pressure is Belgrade, not Pristina.
