The deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo, Eman Rrahamani and Visar Korenica, have announced that they have resigned from the ruling party, Lévizja Vetëvendosje, to join, as they said, the Family List, of the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR) of Behgjet Pacolli and Justice Party (PD) of Ferid Agan, in the February 9 elections.

Rrahmani, in a media conference on Tuesday, listed some of the reasons that have left the LVV, where he also mentioned some provisions of the draft civil code. He also criticized the government led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as he said for failure in education, economy and health.

"We are joining a coalition for the family. The draft civil code that with some of its provisions violates the traditional family, the draft law on reproductive health that attempts and legalizes fertilization and donation without known identity that leads to incest and let's not talk about the violation of the family. Allowing the change of gender according to the feeling in the draft law on civil status even for children and many activities in the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education have obliged us to unite and think and act about the political commitment to the family. The continued flight from the country of young people, professional workers and all other social categories has become a great burden weighing on Kosovo. The failure to raise the coefficient in the public sector, the low minimum wage, the continuation of nepotism and many other phenomena... The continuation of the lack of improvement in education, economy and health have been the main problems that have continued to make life difficult for citizens," he said.

Rrahami emphasized that cooperation with AKR and PD is not a fusion of these two parties, but a coalition on the cause of preserving the traditional family. "This does not go down well with either AKR or DP. This presentation of this coalition for the family today is formal, since we, together with Visar, have started this process two years ago about the idea of how we will come to the next elections, whether we will continue with the subject where we have been and other things. Due to the announcement of elections, it was impossible to register a new political entity and create a coalition. As a new political subject, we were able to register, but September 1 was the end of the deadlines for joining coalitions. In agreement with AKR and PD, we have asked to be registered as such a coalition. The name of the coalition is the List for the AKR-PD Family. We will compete in a joint coalition with these two subjects" , Rrahmani added.

He said he was open for other MPs to join this coalition, but as he said, they should support the family cause. "This is a process that started today, it will be presented to everyone who is interested, including MPs, then it remains their decision on the political alignment", he declared.

Although he announced his departure from the LVV, Rrahmani said that they will support any legal initiative in the Assembly as he said is useful for the citizens. "Continuing as a deputy will be as it has been, we will support every legal initiative that comes to the Assembly and is useful for the country, as well as we will oppose every initiative or other issue that is harmful and against the interests of the citizens. The work in the Assembly will continue as it has continued until today", concluded Rrahmani.
