The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, said after the session in the Kosovo Assembly that it has been proven that "Abin Kurti is holding the country hostage."
"This is the end of a political deception that has cost our country these months with isolation, division, and a waste of time. Albin Kurti will no longer be the Prime Minister of Kosovo. He will no longer be," said Krasniqi.
He stressed that any new government without Kurti will be good for Kosovo.
The government cabinet proposed by Albin Kurti as the mandated one to form the new government failed to receive the necessary 61 votes.
In the Kosovo Assembly, 56 deputies voted in favor, while 52 voted against and 4 abstained.
According to the Constitution, President Osmani must invite the parties for consultations within 10 days and decide on the new prime minister who has the best chance of forming the government.
If the next attempt also fails, then Osmani will have to announce new elections that must be held within 40 days.
There were 130 deputies present in the hall.
