The KFOR peacekeeping mission has issued a statement about the whereabouts of the Kosovar policemen who were kidnapped by masked Serbs. The announcement states that based on the data so far, it is not yet known exactly where the policemen were during the kidnapping, which KFOR refers to as an arrest.
" Based on the available data, it remains unclear where the Kosovo police officers were at the time of the arrest ," the announcement states.
This in one way or another shows that KFOR and the Internationals are failing to carry out their mission in front of Serbia, which has rejected them in every way and is not giving any information about the case.
Furthermore, KFOR continues to clarify that in this location, near the Administrative Border Line, both Kosovo institutions and Serbian authorities have clear responsibilities to coordinate with KFOR.
We remind both parties of their responsibilities according to the Military-Technical Agreement between Serbia and KFOR and the procedures for coordination between the Kosovo Police, including the Border Police and KFOR. We call on all parties to adhere to agreements and procedures to cooperate with KFOR. We call on both sides to refrain from provocative rhetoric and to avoid any unilateral action that could escalate the situation in the area ," KFOR said in a statement on Friday afternoon.
At the end of the communiqué, KFOR adds that it welcomes the efforts of the diplomatic community to resolve the issue and supports the dialogue facilitated by the EU for the normalization of relations. While adding that it will continue to carry out its mandate as a "third party - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement, for the benefit of all communities in Kosovo.
