The failure of the dialogue table mediated by Brussels between the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the Serbian President Aleksandër Vucic, may be accompanied by new punitive measures against both Pristina and Belgrade. This was warned by the spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano.
" If any member of the EU does not see steps for extension, additional measures can be introduced for Kosovo, but also for the other side. This is a process that the members are following, they are not satisfied with the development of events. They had different expectations and if the situation continues to develop like this, it will bring more specific answers ", said Stano.
According to him, the special envoy for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajçak, has started to inform the member states about the September 14 meeting, and after the analysis, the member states will decide what will happen next.
The United States of America is also disappointed by the lack of progress in the dialogue.
" Time is passing. We want to see progress on existing and previous commitments undertaken in dialogue and with the Ohrid Agreement, including the establishment of an association of municipalities with a Serbian majority. We will consult internally and with our European partners about the next steps ," he said.
