Bislimi confirmed that he met only with the EU envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, but not with Serbia's chief negotiator, Petar Petkovic.

Kosovo's chief negotiator in the dialogue with Serbia, Besnik Bislimi, has stated that Thursday's meetings in Brussels ended without a tripartite meeting, as according to him, there was no need for something like that.

Bislimi confirmed that he met only with the EU envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, but not with Serbia's chief negotiator, Petar Petkovic.

Bislimi has confirmed that in the meeting with Lajcak, a sequenced plan for the implementation of the Agreement for the normalization of relations between the two countries was discussed, as well as for the implementation annex. The parties reached agreement on the Agreement in February in Brussels and on the implementation annex in March in Ohrid.

" During the past week, Mr. Lajcak brought us a new draft, which for the first time introduces full parallelism in the implementation of the Agreement, or a more balanced implementation, and we have tried for this draft to we give the final comments, so that the same is acceptable to our side. I think that Lajcak was very willing to accommodate our proposals and all of them were well argued in detail ", said Bislimi, after the meeting.

Asked whether the draft statute for the formation of the Association of Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo was discussed - delivered by a Western delegation weeks ago in Pristina and Belgrade - Bislimi said that this item was on the agenda, but the Kosovar side of has made its position clear.

He said that the draft statute and the Agreement for normalization must be signed in order for them to be implemented.

" The implementation cannot start [without a signature], because we need a guarantee that we have a valid agreement, which brings obligations for the other party as well ".

Asked if the declaration of European officials that the presented draft statute is the best version that Kosovo has accepted, Bislimi said that such a position is subjective, because "Kosovo has not had offers so far".

" We have had drafts that have circulated, but we can say that the draft that was submitted to Kosovo by our friends from the European Union and the USA, during the preparation of its articles, had an increased care for the constitutional provisions of the Constitution of Kosovo ", adding that the issue of whether that document is fully in accordance with the Constitution of Kosovo is decided by the Constitutional Court.

Bislimi also added that the meeting also discussed energy issues, the registration of cars with illegal Serbian license plates in the RKS - Republic of Kosovo, and the holding of elections in the municipalities in the north of Kosovo.
