Today, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was asked by journalists at a press conference about Edi Rama's draft proposal for the Association of Serbian municipalities in the north.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo said that Edi Rama should introduce Vucic to him during the meeting in the Open Balkans.
"I am committed and believe that without intensifying the dialogue, they will not implement the agreement. What we need is the sequencing of the implementation and that is why I expressed the request for the meeting. I offered to write the draft statute myself, but in that case I asked for an agreement with the basic principles. I have no doubt that Edi Rama believes that his proposal is good and that being so, all I propose is that Prime Minister Rama present this draft statute to Vučić at the Balkan meeting open to Albanians in Medvegja and Bujanoč. Article 8 of the Constitution of Albania states that the Republic of Albania protects the national rights of the Albanian people living outside its borders. He should send it to Belgrade for the Albanians of the Valley. I haven't read it," Kurti said.
Last week, in a special press conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that he has proposed a draft proposal for the Association drawn up with high-level American and European experts and forwarded it to French President Macron and German Chancellor Scholz.
"Yesterday, I forwarded to President Macron and Chancellor Scholz a draft of the association, about which I informed both the EC President and the American side. It is a draft worked out by top-level American and European experts long ago, just in case this day should come. This day when the parties, and in this case the position of Kosovo, not Serbia, is incomprehensible to me, the parties cannot agree on who will write this text. Of course, this is a confidential document which undoubtedly does not pretend to be the ideal solution, but I assure you that it is a document of the highest international level that takes into consideration all the reasons for the creation of the association and definitely that the association is part of the organization to be in Republic of Kosovo," said Rama.
