KFOR agrees with Albin Kurti: Criminal groups were hiding behind the protesters

The spokesman of the KFOR Headquarters, Colonel Andrea Gallieni, in a press conference held on Friday, said that it was clear that behind the Serbian protesters in the north, there were criminal groups that tried to attack the KFOR troops.

Gallieni said that several KFOR soldiers were injured during the protest in Zveçan.

"Starting from May 29, additional KFOR troops were deployed in the north of Kosovo after the four presidents tried to enter their offices by force days ago. KFOR was there to prevent further escalation of the protest and on the 29th in a separate municipality (Zvecan vj) a large protest took place. KFOR soldiers were involved in the violent protest. During the protest, soldiers were injured by stones, improvised explosives and firearms. It was clear that people were trying to protest peacefully, but it was clear that behind them were hiding criminal groups trying to attack KFOR troops", Gallieni emphasized.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Albin Kurti two days ago that the hand grenades and stun grenades used by violent extremist and criminal groups in the 3 northern municipalities on May 29 were produced and brought from Serbia.

"Violent extremist and criminal groups in 3 northern municipalities on May 29 used SRB (Slavko Rudojic Bugojno) M75 hand grenades and RSB (Ručna Shok Bomba) P98 hand grenades, both produced and brought from Serbia, injuring dozens of Serbian soldiers. NATO, Kosovo police and journalists" - wrote Kurti on Twitter.
