The constitution of the Kosovo Assembly has failed for the fourth time. The Vetëvendosje Movement once again nominated Albulena Haxhiu for Speaker of the Assembly, for the third time after two failures in the previous session, creating a stalemate.
As the session began, chairman Avni Dehari invited Vetëvendosje to propose a name for speaker of the Assembly.
Vetëvendosje MP Gluk Konjufca said that they have the same name, Albulena Haxhiu, and stressed that since other parties have declared against her vote, additional time is needed for consultations.
"VV, undoubtedly has the same name, Albulena Haxhiu as the proposed one. Since we have seen that all political entities had already announced yesterday that they will have the same position, I think that in this political situation it cannot be resolved except with a political agreement... Without the creation of a majority here in the Assembly for the Speaker of the Assembly, the Assembly itself will not be able to be established. The same logic applies to the deputy speakers... Then we, Mr. Speaker, request additional time so that the same situation that we had three times in a row in the Assembly does not repeat itself" , emphasized Konjufca.
Under these conditions, the chairman of the session, Dehari, closed the session and scheduled the next one for Wednesday, April 23.
