The leader of the Vetevendosje Movement and acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has stated that the party he leads has not been interested in new elections this year. Kurti said that the VV is ready for elections at any time, but not this year.
"We are ready for elections anytime, but not this year," he said.
Speaking about the election result and the possibility of co-government, Kurti stated that a party that wins over half of the votes has no reason to invite other entities into government.
"This would be a distortion of the will of the people," Kurti declared.
He said that he has held meetings with opposition leaders in an attempt to find a political solution, adding that he was the only one who made offers regarding the President's issue, writes Kanal10.
"We told the opposition that they have 37 MPs to bring the proposal for candidates for President and we offered them the signatures, but the opposition proved arrogant," Kurti said.
