A statement by the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, that there may be a review of the visa policy if Kosovo and Serbia do not act responsibly has fueled doubts that liberalization may not become a reality on January 1, 2024.
Regarding this statement, the Rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon, reacted by saying that the citizens of Kosovo deserve the liberalization of visas after a long delay.
Through a post on social networks, von Cramon stated that the visa liberalization process for Kosovar citizens should not be linked to the dialogue with Serbia.
"The citizens of Kosovo deserve visa liberalization, which is overdue. We want to be clear – visa-free travel is not and should not be linked to the Dialogue with Serbia.
The EU must keep its promise by allowing Kosovo citizens to travel freely from January 1, 2024 ," Von Cramon wrote on the X platform.
#Kosovo ???????? citizens deserve the long overdue visa liberalization.
