The head of the Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, has announced that NATO has approved the addition of peacekeeping forces in Kosovo after the unrest in the north.
Stoltenberg also called on the parties to de-escalate the situation and return to dialogue as the only way to resolve the differences.
" We call on all parties to urgently de-escalate. We continue to call on Belgrade and Pristina to engage in EU-facilitated dialogue as the only way to resolve outstanding issues and reach solutions that respect the rights of all communities. This is the key to sustainable security in Kosovo and stability in the region ," said the NATO Secretary General.
Stoltenberg's decision was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who said that Serbia wants to destabilize the region with the help of Russia.
