The media are attacked in the north of Kosovo; two injured

A television crew in Zveçan was attacked with stones by Serbs while they were reporting the latest developments in this municipality.

It is learned that some masked people threw stones at the moving car and as a result a journalist and a cameraman were injured.

The Association of Journalists of Kosovo is concerned about the media teams that are reporting from the north of the country and therefore calls on the Kosovo Police and the international presence to create better conditions for them.

For several weeks, Serbs have been protesting thus opposing the entry of Albanian mayors into the municipal buildings in Zveçan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok.

The situation became tense on Friday, May 26, when the mayors were forced to enter their offices under the protection of the Kosovo Police.

As a result of the violent protests, six Kosovo policemen and over 30 KFOR soldiers were injured.
