The head of the assembly members of the Democratic Party of Kosovo in the Municipality of Pristina, Leutrim Retkoceri, has urgently asked the law enforcement agencies to launch investigations into what he described as the "Drug Affair" after the arrest of the assembly member of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Besnik Mujeci.
It turned out that he was part of a smuggling group in Albania, which was found with more than 11 thousand doses of drugs, amounting to about half a million euros. He emphasized that according to information from the Albanian State Police, drugs were exported from Kosovo to Albania precisely by buses.
"Besnik Mujeci is not only an assembly member of the Municipality of Pristina. Days ago, precisely at the insistence of his party, he was appointed as a shareholder in the Public Enterprise 'Bus Station'. According to information from the Police of the State of Albania, drugs were exported from Kosovo to Albania by buses. The arrest of the assemblyman of Vetëvendosje, the shareholder of the Public Enterprise 'Stacioni i Autobusve', raises the well-founded suspicions that his appointment to this high position as a shareholder of this enterprise was not accidental at all. At the same time, the arrested drug trafficker of Vetëvendosje, Besnik Mujeci, is the closest friend of Gëzim Sveçla, the head of assembly members of this party in Pristina. For those of you who don't know, Gëzim Sveçla is the son of the mother of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla. That is not all: This type of drug, distributed by Vetëvendosje drug trafficker Besnik Mujeci, has its origins in Serbia. So, these people took the drug in Serbia and brought it to Kosovo and Albania".Retkoceri added.
According to him, the PDK in Pristina raises doubts that Besnik Mujeci may not be the only one involved in this big affair of smuggling and selling drugs.
"Our questions for the law enforcement agencies are clear: Where did Vetëvendosje drug trafficker Besnik Mujeci get this quantity of drugs? How many times until today, using the official channels and the institutional position at the bus station, has he smuggled drugs to Albania? Is Albania the only country in which Besnik Mujeci trafficked drugs? Are there other people from the ranks of this party who are involved in this big drug affair? Why has Besnik Mujeci not been arrested until today in Kosovo? Has there been protection from other officials and institutions in our country?" , Retkoceri emphasized.
