The presence of 4 women survivors of the war in Kosovo, part of Vjosa Osman's delegation at the UN Security Council meeting, has made Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the Russian Permanent Representative nervous.
The first to react was the Russian representative, Vasily Nebenzya, who said that allowing women from Kosovo was a violation of procedure and even if they were allowed to enter, they should have sat further away.
" This is a violation of the procedure regardless of who did it ," said Nebenzya.
Meanwhile, Vučič ignored the accusation of war crimes, saying that it is something that happened 25 years ago and that today they had gathered to talk about the events of the last 6 months.
" And what we heard so far was like a war crimes trial against the Serbs for something that happened 25 years ago. Not a single word to report, nothing for the last 6 months. Why didn't they inform us who would be part of each of the delegations? Do you really believe that there are no raped Serbian women in Kosovo during this period?" , Vucic said.
In her reaction, Osmani said that Hoti, Krasniqi, Muçolli and Tairi, besides representing sad stories of the war, are also part of her cabinet.
" As for the procedural issue, since they are skilled lawyers for justice, they are also members of my cabinet, appointed as such. So they are in an advisory capacity, because they work for the causes they care about, for the women who have experienced sexual violence and the support of the families of these women ", said Osmani.
The Russian representative reacted again, saying that women could not be part of Osmani's cabinet because it does not have a cabinet of ministers, given that Russia does not recognize Kosovo.
" Ms. Osmani may believe that she has a cabinet of ministers, advisers and so on, but according to our point of view she does not have a cabinet and if she believes that she has, she was invited as a private person ," he said.
