The leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has described his party's victory in 7 municipalities nationwide in the local elections as a success. According to him, the victory in four municipalities in the runoff was achieved despite all others uniting against VV.
"It is an unprecedented situation in the electoral political history of Kosovo, so this is a success for VV and the citizens. We are still waiting for the results in the other municipalities. We will certainly address them again when we receive them, but now I have to hurry to the festive rally first in Fushë-Kosovo, then in Kastriot and then in Mitrovica," Kurti said in a statement to the media.
The Vetëvendosje Movement won in the first round in Podujevo, Shtime and Kamenica. While of the 12 municipalities in which it competed in the run-off, it won in South Mitrovica, Gjilan, Obiliq and Fushë Kosova.
