In the European Parliament, the number of deputies criticizing Miroslav Lajçak's approach to Kosovo is increasing. The representative of the European Union for the dialogue is accused of favoring Serbia in the latest crisis, while making only Pristina responsible.
The fact that he comes from a country like Slovakia, which does not recognize Kosovo's independence, is also being raised as a concern.
The Dutch MEP, Thijs Reuten, from the Labor party, said in an interview for Euronea Albania that the EU is not reacting properly to the autocratic attitude of the president Aleksandër Vucic regarding Kosovo for 10 years.
According to him, Vučič is an autocratic politician and he has proven this not only with his approach to Kosovo, but also with the politics he follows within his own country, which, as he said, is democracy only on paper.
" We have been very critical of the general approach of the EU and Lajcak, what the EU is failing to do is look at what happened at the end of May in the North. We have been dealing for more than a decade with an autocratic president in Serbia who is playing with the internationals. The EU is not reacting in the right way to this attitude ", said the MEP.
