The formalization of sanctions against Kosovo has caused reactions in Pristina.
The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has said that Albin Kurti and his politics cannot make Kosovo a European state.
Abdixhiku wrote on Facebook that Kosovo has never been worse internationally than today, while adding that Serbia has never had more support than now.
" Suspension of EU funds; Suspension of SAA, Suspension of high-level meetings, Suspension of bilateral visits. Sanctions for Kosovo, progress for Serbia. How was this victory for us? As we are excluded from military programs with NATO; Serbia continues its peacekeeping missions with them ," Abdixiku wrote.
" While we miss out on the 7.5 billion program for digital development, the countries of the region are making great strides. I have consistently met businesses from the IT community, incredible employers, potential and more. Today, they also lose the young people who would employ continuously ", he continued.
While the vice president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Vlora Çitaku, has accused Prime Minister Albin Kurti that as a result of his governance, Kosovo today "is divided from within and sanctioned by the allies".
" The monetary values lost by this sanction are incomparably smaller than the damage done to Kosovo's credibility in the international arena. I know Kurt is never late for either MSA or IPA. In the end, he and VV did not vote for the ratification of the SAA in the Assembly. But Kosovo does not belong to one person ", wrote Çitaku on Facebook.
