The United States of America has given the green light to the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) to purchase Black Hawk military helicopters. The news was announced by Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci during his visit to the United States.
" In the third phase of transition, more advanced systems will be required, especially military support systems, which means helicopters and air defense radars. And we have received support that the United States of America will support the Republic of Kosovo in building these capacities ," the Macedonian declared.
The minister even visited the "Sikorsky - Lockheed Martin" factory, where various helicopters are produced, including the "Black Hawk" helicopters.
In addition to helicopters, the KSF will also be supplied with a significant number of Javelin anti-tank equipment this year.
Regarding this important step in increasing Kosovo's military capacities, the director of the Octopus Institute, Arben Fetoshi, told the Telegraph that this is Kosovo's greatest achievement.
Fetoshi emphasizes that this step is a key element in the development process of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), which strengthens its capabilities to protect the country and the region.
" The advancement of the KSF's capacities with the American "Black Hawk" helicopters is an extremely important development for the consolidation of the Kosovo Army ," said Fetoshti, adding that " the coordinated actions with NATO partners in the transition of the KSF have not only refuted skeptics, but have been confirmed as a necessity for increasing defense capabilities in an increasingly challenging security environment . "

Black Hawk helicopters are multi-role military helicopters manufactured by the American company Sikorsky Aircraft, and are widely used by the armies of many countries around the world.
