The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said that she has decided that extraordinary elections will be held on December 28.
During the press conference, following the meeting he held earlier in the day with representatives of political parties, Osmani said that eight parties were in favor of December 28, five for December 21, and three parties said that any date is okay for them.
She has also preliminarily signed the decision to dissolve the Assembly, after the day before, MPs failed for the second time to elect the country's new executive.
The signing of the decree to dissolve the Assembly also comes after political leaders failed to reach any agreement for deputies to try to vote on several agreements of importance to the country today.
"In accordance with the Constitution of Kosovo and the legislation in force, and following today's acceptance of the decision of the Assembly of Kosovo regarding the failure to form a Government by the second mandate holder, the President of the Republic of Kosovo has today dissolved the ninth legislature of the Republic of Kosovo," the Presidency's announcement states.
