The local councilor of the European Union, Kati Schneeberger, has come out against the EU regarding pressures and measures against Kosovo.
She said in an interview for "Klan Kosova" that the demand of the USA and the EU that the presidents in the north work in an alternative place and not in their offices is meaningless.
" With this ambiguous positioning - first support, then no support for the elections - they have supported the boycott led by Vučić. The support of this circus by the USA and the EU is a big mistake and is a decisive factor for the destabilization of the situation. There is something seriously wrong here. The US and the EU must move away from the anti-democratic path of recent weeks and support democracy and the rule of law, not autocracy and escalation ," she said.
Furthermore, she also spoke about the measures imposed by the European Union on June 28, which she said "must be withdrawn immediately" and that they are "counterproductive", while the European chief diplomat, Josep Borrell and the EU's special emissary for dialogue Kosovo - Serbia, Miroslav Lajçak, Schneeberger calls them biased towards Serbia.
Both Borrell and Lajçak are not independent persons on this issue. They are clearly on Vucic's side, not only because they come from countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo. Such one-sided persons are not suitable to mediate in a conflict. There is an urgent need for other people who are independent, can reach sustainable solutions and have the courage to take the necessary steps ," said Schneeberger.
According to Schneeberger, the reason why Kosovo is under great pressure from the United States of America and the European Union is the establishment of the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian Majority.
" The US and the EU are putting a lot of pressure on Kosovo to give Vučić what he wants - his Association. The US and the EU are not helping to de-escalate the situation, they are making it worse. They are abandoning the democratic partner and supporting the aggressor ", declared Schneeberger.
