According to Fabrizio Romano, the Alexander Isak saga will not die down after Newcastle rejected just one official offer from Liverpool.
"Newcastle said no to Liverpool's offer. That's probably why you see a lot of reports that Liverpool are not willing to make another offer," Romano said on his YouTube channel.
But within the team, Liverpool know that this is part of the game. It's still early August. There's still a lot of time left.
"Liverpool expected Newcastle to be strong in his position. The only way this deal could happen is if Newcastle take a top-class striker and decide within the team to let Isak go."
Liverpool's initial offer came in at around £110-120m, depending on which sources you believe. However, Newcastle want a package of around £150m.
