Kukësi will continue to be part of the First Category next season, after defeating Butrinti 2-0 in the "play-out" match held at the "Arena Egnatia" stadium in Rrogozhina.
The northeastern team opened the challenge in the 40th minute through Oliveira Dos Santos, closing the first half with a minimal advantage. Just a few seconds after the start of the second half, Abiodun scored the second goal, which proved decisive for the fate of the match.
Butrint tried to react and created several dangerous chances, but failed to find the net to reopen the challenge. In a hard-fought and high-tension match, Kukësi managed the advantage until the end, ensuring their stay in the First Category.
Both teams had previously lost to Bylis B in the play-out phase, but due to the relegation of Bylis' first team from the Super League to the First Category, a vacancy was created. The Federation decided to hold an additional match between Kukës and Butrint to determine the team that would fill this vacancy.
With this victory, Kukësi avoids relegation and maintains its status in the First Category, while Butrint returns to the Second Category, where next season it will aim to return among professional teams.
