Ivan Balliu ended Wednesday night with disappointment, as Rayo Vallecano were defeated 1-0 by Crystal Palace in the Conference League final.
The Albanian national team defender, who has long left open the possibility of reflecting on his continuation with the Rossoneri, reacted a day after the final with an emotional post on social media.
" I have never known a greater victory than with you in a defeat. Eternal gratitude ," Balliu wrote in his post.
The message was what Rayo Vallecano fans unfolded in the stands at the end of the lost match against Crystal Palace, showing support and appreciation for the team regardless of the result.
The final ended with another disappointment for the Spanish club, as Balliu ended the evening with a finalist's medal, without managing to lift the European trophy.
