La Liga's market value drops by 160 million euros in one season

Since the end of the season, La Liga's market value has fallen by 160 million euros, according to quotes on Transfermarkt.

The significant decline is largely attributed to the departure of key players from clubs, many of whom were sold in response to Spain's strict financial regulations.

Teams such as Sevilla, Real Betis and Valencia have sold valuable assets to balance their finances ahead of the new season.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have largely kept their stars, although Barca continues to struggle to sign players, as Madrid has spent almost €180m on new recruits.

Meanwhile, mid- and lower-tier clubs have borne the brunt of the devaluation, often forced to sell rising stars abroad for financial survival while unable to sign the top players they need.

This downward trend could affect the league's global competitiveness, especially when compared to the Premier League or the Saudi Pro League, which have continued to spend aggressively this summer.
