Atalanta drew 2-2 against Udinese in the match held in Bergamo, valid for the 28th week of the Italian championship, Serie A. The hosts avoided defeat only in the last minutes of the match, thanks to two goals from Gianluca Scamacca.
The match was opened in the 40th minute by the visitors. After a corner kick taken by Nicolo Zaniolo, Danish defender Tomas Kristensen headed the ball into the net, giving Udinese the lead. The first half ended with the score 0-1 in favor of the Friulians.
At the start of the second half, Udine doubled their lead. In the 55th minute, Keinan Davis took advantage of a long-range move by the visitors and several consecutive attempts to score, bringing the score to 0-2.
Atalanta's reaction only came in the final half of the match. In the 75th minute, Gianluca Scamacca scored with a header after a precise cross from Nikola Zalevski, who had been brought on as a substitute in the second half.
Just four minutes later, in the 79th minute, Skamaka headed home again to tie the scores at 2-2, after taking advantage of a counterattack that started after a mistake by Udinese goalkeeper Okoje.
Until the end of the match, the result remained unchanged, with the match ending in a 2-2 draw.
With this result, Atalanta loses two important points in the race for a place in next season's European competitions. The Bergamasco team is currently ranked seventh with 46 points. Meanwhile, Udinese holds tenth place in the Serie A standings.
