In June, Cristiano Ronaldo posted a photo with his eldest son. The latter surprised many with his height, the 15-year-old teenager is now almost the same height as his father. Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. is now 1.85 m tall, just two centimeters shorter than his father.
Not only does the boy work out at the gym to improve his physical fitness, but he recently copied one of his father's old hairstyles from his time playing for Juventus. He also celebrated a goal for the Portugal U-15 national team against Croatia by imitating his father's iconic "SIU" celebration.
The birth of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. is surrounded by mystery. The identity of his mother remains unknown. The boy was born on June 17, 2010, in the United States and was later brought to Portugal, where Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, and his sisters, Elma and Katia, helped raise him.
At the time, Ronaldo was not married, but was dating Russian model Irina Shayk. The child is not hers, as Shayk simply announced on Facebook that her famous boyfriend had become a father.
The news of the baby came as a surprise. One theory claims that the boy was born via a surrogate mother. Ronaldo said that the woman chose to stay out of the public eye. He prefers not to talk about the subject and is protective of his son's privacy.
In 2011, global media reported that the surrogate mother had died, citing Ronaldo's sister, Katia Aveiro. In 2014, it was reported that Ronaldo told his son about his mother's fate, although he did not plan to until the boy was 18.

Another version of the story claims that Ronaldo had a one-night stand with a waitress in Los Angeles in 2009. When the woman discovered she was pregnant, she contacted Ronaldo through his agent. After a DNA test confirmed paternity, the footballer recognized the child and paid the woman to give up her parental rights. According to the Mirror, the deal cost Ronaldo around $15 million.
"I always dreamed of becoming a young father, at the age of 25. That's exactly what happened," he said.
"Becoming a father changed me. My child always supports me and smiles constantly," Ronaldo once said in an interview.
No carbonated drinks or fast food allowed.
Cristiano is known for his discipline and strict self-regulating. There are legends about how he maintains his shape: his diet, sleep and recovery methods are intensely structured. He instills the same values in his children, especially his eldest son, who is pursuing a football career. Ronaldo wants his son to understand that his wealth came through hard work. Cristiano Sr. grew up in poverty and lost his father early. But his son lives in a mansion, has access to luxury cars and more. That's why Ronaldo emphasizes to him that nothing comes without effort. Remember when, during Euro 2020, Ronaldo put aside Coca-Cola bottles at a press conference and told people to drink water instead? He follows a strict diet, does not eat sweets or drink carbonated drinks and has never promoted such products.
He also forbids his son from drinking soda and monitors his diet, although he occasionally allows pizza, for example, on Sundays. "Sometimes he drinks Coca-Cola, soda, eats chips, and I know that annoys me. I advise him to recover after running by jumping into cold water. He replies: 'Dad, but it's too cold.'"

"I won't force him to become a footballer, but if you ask me if I want that, of course I do.
"But most importantly, I want him to be the best at whatever he chooses, whether it's football or becoming a doctor," Ronaldo said at the 2020 Globe Soccer Awards.
No phone, no Instagram
The restrictions don't just end with food. They also apply to electronic devices. In 2022, Ronaldo revealed that his son didn't have a mobile phone. He believes this could distract him from his studies and training. He also wants his son to appreciate hard work and not be spoiled. Ronaldo wants to raise him to be humble and hardworking, and thinks that access to technology could interfere with that. "Let me tell you about Cristiano Jr., my eldest son, who will soon be 12. He keeps asking me when he's going to get a phone. I always say: 'When the time is right.'"
"Technology is great, but we shouldn't be obsessed with it. Sometimes I give him a phone for a little while, but not all the time. Children should only use phones for limited periods," Ronaldo told Corriere dello Sport.

He also forced his son to delete a secret Instagram account he had created at the age of 12 and refused to buy him an iPhone.
"Recently, my son asked me to buy him an iPhone 6. I said no. I asked him who he wanted to call. He said, 'You, Dad.' So I told him to call me from grandma's phone. You can't control everything, but a good upbringing and a proper education, that's the best gift you can give a child," Ronaldo said in 2015.
