Scored the winning goal, Haaland celebrated like a hero of Greek mythology

Erling Haaland scored his 55th goal in the Champions League on Wednesday evening (10/12).

The Norwegian striker completed his turnaround at the Santiago Bernabeu, in Manchester City's big 1-2 victory over Real Madrid.

Even more impressive than the goal he scored was his celebration.

After successfully scoring a penalty for 1-2 in the 43rd minute of the match, the 25-year-old, despite the... onslaught of joy he received from his teammates, remained calm and somewhat... cold.

After the match, he solved the mystery in an interview he gave to CBS, where the presenters-commentators are Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

He said he hadn't thought of a specific way to celebrate and his move to walk slowly was inspired by the movie "Achilles," the hero of Greek mythology.

"I generally don't think in advance how I'm going to celebrate. Never. After the goal I scored against Real Madrid, the first thing I thought about was walking like Achilles from the movie. Pretending nothing had happened. I don't know if you've seen the movie. Then I shook my head looking at a meme on Instagram, I'll send it to Richards later," he said.
