Wojciech Szczesny will return from retirement in Marbella to join Barcelona. He is already in the capital city of Barcelona undergoing relevant medical examinations, as a step before signing the contract with the Blaugrana club until next June 30.
In principle, Szczesny, who hung up his gloves this summer after participating in the European Championship, will take advantage of the national team's break, which starts in a week, to prepare and get fit. Szczesny's arrival is possible thanks to a clause in LaLiga that allows 80% of the transfer of a long-term injured player to be used. It is clear that Inaki Pena will be the biggest casualty with the arrival of Szczesny, but the club's Sports Commission considered that trusting the goal in the home side from Alicante was too risky, especially considering the youth and inexperience of the other goalkeepers: David Kochen and Ander Astralaga.
