The Swiss Ambassador to Albania, Ruth Huber, during a visit to Korça, also spoke about the protests that have been taking place in Tirana for days. Huber said that democratic institutions and people's participation in protests are an important element of any system.
She also said that Switzerland has provided long-term support to civil society, which deals, among other things, with organizing protests.
However, regarding the 'object' of the protest and its progress, Huber did not give a concrete answer, as according to her, 'the question was too political and difficult for a foreign embassy to answer'.
" Our question is related to the protest that is taking place in Tirana and several other cities in Albania. What do you think about the protest, how do you see it in the future and do you have anything to say to the Albanian government?" , the journalists asked the ambassador.
"This is a very political question and it is difficult to answer as a foreign embassy. Of course, through our development program, we also strengthen democracy, with our support to the national parliament, to local parliaments. We have a long-term support for civil society, so democratic instruments and people's participation in protests are an important element of any system, just like in our system in Switzerland ," replied the Swiss ambassador to Albania, Ruth Huber.
