29-year-old missing in Klos for 5 days, Kosovo army comes to help in search

The search for 29-year-old Ardit Beshiri, who was working with an excavator when a large mass of soil buried him at the Chrome processing factory, has been ongoing for 5 days in Qafë e Burrel.

Today, following a decision by the Kosovo government, it was approved that the Kosovo Army would also assist in the search for the 29-year-old.

"The Ministry of Defense, based on the objectives and strategic planning for the expansion of capacities and the assignment of these capacities, is prepared to support Albania with a contingent for humanitarian needs, namely the humanitarian search and rescue operation, in the place called "Qafa e Burrelit", Klos Municipality. This support is within the framework of the strategic partnership with friendly countries and in particular with Albania, in this case to support the authorities of the Albanian state", the announcement states.

It is learned that the 18-year-old was working on the lower side of the reservoir at the time of the rupture. The flood of water and sand that had accumulated from the processing of chrome took him away and his fate is still unknown.

Due to the large amount of water and collapsed material, no trace of the 29-year-old was found, but only some parts of the excavator.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested the company's technical director, Ademir Lala, for violating occupational safety regulations.
